Our Shortblock packages can be modified slightly to change specs to fit your needs. Shrader engines are built in our temperature controlled clean shop in Gastonia NC and the utmost care is taken in using precision measurements to achieve tolerances within +/- .0002 of desired results. You can pickup your engine in person, or we can provide freight solutions to deliver it to your door. If you already have a core engine to use as a starting platform we can work up a personal quote to save you on some costs as opposed to using all new parts. Give us a call if you have any questions.

Ford 4.6 based engines

SHRADER 600 M (4.6L shortblock, cast crank, forged pistons/rods)

  • The 600 M is one of our more popular combos, and includes forged Manley H-beam rods and Manley forged pistons that can handle modest levels of boost or nitrous if desired. We start with an iron block core, bored .020 over w/torque plates and the decks are machined for perfect top surfaces. Balanced and Blueprinted. All “M” Designations use Clevite main and rod bearings as well as Total Seal piston rings for extra durability and longevity.

SHRADER 600 MA (4.6L ALUMINUM shortblock, cast crank, forged pistons/rods)

  • The 600 MA is the same as our 600 M only with an aluminum block to shave 80 lbs from your engine weight. It includes forged Manley H-beam rods and Manley forged pistons that can handle modest levels of boost or nitrous if desired. We start with an aluminum block, bored .020 over w/torque plates and the decks are machined for perfect top surfaces. Balanced and Blueprinted. All “M” Designations use Clevite main and rod bearings as well as Total Seal piston rings for extra durability and longevity.

SHRADER 800 M (4.6 IRON shortblock forged crank/pistons/rods)

  • The 800 M (and it’s cousin, the 800 MA aluminum block) is our most popular build and features a stout bottom end to support bigger boost levels or large hits of nitrous. We start with a new Ford Racing iron block, std bore for more cylinder wall strength. We use our upgraded DSS Racing GSX pistons with valve reliefs for running larger cams, and Manley forged rods w/upgraded ARP2000 rod bolts. Perfect for a street car that wants mild manners at cruise, and WILD manners at wide open throttle! ARP Main Studs INCLUDED with this option.

SHRADER 800 X (5.0L BOSS BLOCK 304ci shortblock - 4.6 based)

  • The 800 X is a 304ci Big Bore BOSS engine to replace your 4.6L mod motor, featuring the strongest block available to support large boost levels or large hits of nitrous. We start by fully machining a new Ford Racing BOSS block, with 3.70″ bores for maximum displacement and more combustion area for your valves to breathe. We use a standard stroke forged crank, our upgraded DSS Racing GSX pistons with valve reliefs for running larger cams, and Manley forged rods w/upgraded ARP2000 rod bolts. Perfect for a max effort street car with daily driver attitude! ARP Main Studs INCLUDED with this option.

SHRADER 800 XX (5.3L BOSS BLOCK STROKER 323ci shortblock - 4.6 based)

  • The 800 XX is our 323ci Big Bore BOSS STROKER engine featuring the strongest block available to support large boost levels or large hits of nitrous. We start by fully machining a new Ford Racing BOSS block, with 3.70″ bores for maximum displacement, then throw in a stroker crank to punch it out to 323 cubes. We use upgraded DSS Racing GSX pistons with valve reliefs for running larger cams, and Manley forged rods w/upgraded ARP2000 rod bolts. Perfect for a max effort street car with daily driver attitude!   • The 540 M is our most popular combo for Lightning owners, and includes forged Manley H-beam rods and Manley forged pistons that can handle modest levels of boost or nitrous. We start with a new 5.4 production block and a Balanced and Blueprinted rotating assembly. All “M” Designations use Clevite main and rod bearings as well as Total Seal piston rings for extra durability and longevity.

SHRADER 900 M (5.0L Coyote shortblock, boost friendly)

  • The 900 M is our Coyote based 5.0L engine option. The Ford 5.0 is already a stout performer from the factory but doesn’t hold up well to big boosted applications. We offer an option that gives you better forged rods and pistons with a lower compression ratio so you can crank up the boost.
