Shrader Performance is now offering a Sound Tube Delete kit for the 5.0L 2011-2012 Mustang GT or Boss. The rather silly sound tube is the flexible black hose coming off of your air intake that goes to the firewall on the driver side. It’s supposed to allow you to hear your engine better, but any car guy knows this is a goofy setup. Most folks would rather hear the car through the exhaust tone, or by changing to a true cold air intake with open filter, both of which add hp in addition to making more noise.

Our kit includes:
1 Firewall grommet plug, which also serves as a nice place to run wiring or lines into the cabin.
1 Sound Tube delete cap to cap off the provision on the air intake tube.

Who says a 2-Valve can’t make good power? Through a C4 Automatic, our Shrader-built 298ci 2V engine laid down an impressive 762 rwhp at only 6500 rpm. This was on a brand new engine, with no break-in miles, so after Justin gets some good break-in on the engine, we’ll get it back on the Pro-Dyno rollers to let it scream even higher. We only peaked at 21 psi with the Vortech YSI at 6500, so we still have plenty of room to take it to 7000 to see what she’ll do. The E-85 Ethanol is what really makes this monster come alive under boost with its high octane rating and resistance to detonation even under extreme conditions.

This engine features a Shrader Performance built 298ci stroker, with forged CP pistons, forged Eagle rods and Kellogg 3.75″ stroke crank. Topped off with a set of TFS heads ported by Fox Lake Power Products and some custom Bullet cams that we degree’d to high performance specs for maximum power output and streetability. The exhaust system consists of a set of MAC longtubes, Prochamber H-pipe, and Flowmaster mufflers. Other upgrades we added include an electric water pump, 8-rib drive system, and the Edelbrock Victor Jr intake with custom aluminum plenum and 75mm TB.

You’ll be seeing this car at local dragstrips near you very soon.

So stay tuned for more results!

This silver rocket is powered by our fully built Shrader 5.0L 2V mod motor. Although this subtle street-driven car is buried in snow in the great north for 6 months of the year, when it emerges in the Spring, you’ll find it cruising the streets with some attitude. We started the foundation off with the best, an iron Boss big bore block, and filled it with DSS GSX Pistons, Manley H-beam rods, a Cobra crank, and some Clevite bearings. The heads are Trickflow Track Heat with some mild cams to go with the stock plastic intake.

At about 19-20 psi, this YSi blown Shrader engine made 668 rwhp through some shorty headers and a catted mid-pipe! There’s even more potential in this combo with a few upgrades if Cory decides to go for 700.

When our good friend Charles Drake from Texas asked us to build his 2001 GT Convertible into something bigger, I don’t think he planned for it to develop into the killer machine that you see here.

We turned this almost completely stock high-mileage engine into a street-driven terror, starting off with a good foundation using a Boss big bore iron block. Coupled with the Kellogg stroker crank, forged DSS pistons and forged Manley stroker rods, it achieves a healthy bump in cubes to 323.

We topped off this combo with Trickflow’s Track Heat Twisted Wedge heads and a set of agressive blower cams with upgraded valve springs. The Fox Lake P51 intake helps funnel the 21 lbs of boost from the YSi Vortech through the 9.5:1 compression motor.

On E-85 ethanol fuel, the car made 651 rwhp on Pro-Dyno’s Dynojet. If you’re crusing the streets of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, you may see this monster lurking around looking for its next victim.
